What a business website costs in Ontario in 2026
The honest answer is a range, because "a website" covers everything from a five-page brochure to a store with inventory. These are the published figures from Canadian sources, all opened on 28 September 2026.
| Source | Published range (CAD) | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Business Development Bank of Canada | 10,000 to 30,000 | Typical initial build for a small business; outliers 60,000 to 100,000 |
| GoDaddy Canada | 170 to 5,000 | Brochure site, from an AI-built page to a bespoke design; small e-commerce 5,000 to 10,000 |
| Kinex Media, Mississauga | 7,000 to 15,000, up to 70,000+ | Agency price bands published on its site |
| Parachute Design, Toronto | 40,000 to 80,000+ | Custom design and build for established brands |
What moves the price
- Pages and content. Five pages of copy you supply is one job; twenty pages plus photography and copywriting is another.
- Function. Bookings, quotes, menus, member areas and payments each add integration and testing time.
- Who builds it. Toronto agencies list US$100 to 149 an hour on Clutch; the Toronto median wage for a web developer is C$39.42 an hour before overhead (Job Bank). A Canadian company with its own engineers in Pakistan, like ours, sits well under the agency band.
- What "done" means. Accessibility to WCAG 2.0 AA, tracking that is tested, and a handover are hours of work that cheap quotes leave out and you pay for later.
How to compare quotes
- Ask for the page list, the integrations, and what counts as a change, in writing.
- Ask who owns the domain, hosting and code at the end. The answer should be you.
- Ask what is checked before launch and whether you get the results.
- Ask what the monthly cost is after launch: hosting, updates, and who answers the phone.
Our own packages are on the websites page; the price is set in your quote, and every package lists what is delivered so you can compare like with like.
